CUMC Cookie Walk
The Annual Cookie Walk at Community United Methodist Church, 950 Gould Ave., will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, 9 am-12 pm. It will be a drive-thru, preorder process. Specialty items priced separately, otherwise cookies are priced $5 a half dozen and $9 a dozen, or $25 for a variety box of 3 dozen cookies. There will be 12 popular Christmas cookies to select from. Faith United Methodist Church will host a “Christmas Is” event for children 5-12 years old on Saturday, Dec. 10, 9-11:30 am. On Saturday, Dec. 10, 7 pm, Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1621 University Ave. NE (ample parking), will host their Second Annual Advent Lessons and Carols. Sunday, Dec. 11, 3 pm. This free concert will feature favorite Christmas hymns and carols sung by Salem’s children, youth and adult choirs. The church’s Wind Ensemble, Handbell Ensemble and organist will also take centerstage to spread Christmas cheer. There will also be a crowd sing-along portion. Days for Girls Sew-a-Thon
The Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club is sponsoring a Days for Girls Sew-a-Thon at Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland Street NE, on Saturday, Feb. 4, 9-11 am. Holy Cross Church invites you to their annual Sauerkraut Supper, held in the auditorium of John Paul II Catholic School, 1630 4th St. NE, on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Dinner will served from 4-7 pm, and dancing will continue until 8 pm. The menu includes homemade sauerkraut, pork loin, Polish sausage, potatoes, rye bread, and paczki.
