NECB Holiday Concert at Washburn

The Northeast Community Band will peform its annual holiday concert Thursday, Dec. 11, at Washburn High School, 201 W. 49th St., while the Edison auditorium remains under renovation. The downbeat is at 7 pm. The band will also hold a raffle to support its Ralph Sowden Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to a senior Edison musician each year. The grand prize is a handcrafted music stand created by the band’s bass clarinetist, Wil Hein. Other prizes include gift certificates to Northeast restaurants and a chance to conduct the band in “Sleigh Ride.” Raffle tickets are $5 each, and available at the door. The concert is free.
