Minnesota-made films at MSP Film Festival

Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival 42 runs through April 27 at The Main Cinema, 115 SE Main St., with additional screenings at the Capri, 2027 W. Broadway. Films include the world premiers of “40 Below: The Toughest Race in the World,” an intimate look at one of the most brutal endurance races which takes place in northern Minnesota, and “Minnesota Mean,” which follows the inside track of the Minnesota Roller Derby. A special screening will be held Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 of “Cue the Strings: A Film About Low,” which follows the 29-year career of the band and their relationship with director Philip Harder, making music videos and short films together, filming on ice, in railroad yards and in rapidly disintegrating rooms.
