Free Training for Tax Aide Volunteers
Anoka County’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) seeks volunteers to help seniors, low-income people, and people with disabilities file rent credit and property tax returns. No tax experience is necessary, but volunteers must pass a background check and attend a free training session at the Northtown Library on either Thursday, March 22 from 12:30-4 pm or Thursday, April 19, 12:30-4 pm. The Northtown Library is located at 711 County Rd. 10, NE, in Blaine.
Tax aide volunteers are needed at sites in Anoka, Blaine, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Fridley, or Ham Lake, beginning April 23 through July 25. Morning and afternoon shifts of three to four hours are available. An experienced tax volunteer will be at each site to give new volunteers support and assistance. All equipment and materials are provided and mileage is reimbursed. To register for either the March 22 or April 19 training session, call Tricia at 763-324-1661. Info: anokacounty.us/rsvp.
