Sareen Keenan and her family were one of four families at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Adams Streeet NE Friday afternoon May 1 as a parade of staff from Webster School passed by.
“The teachers and principal came by and had a parade and told us all when to be here. They had a parade route through the neighborhood in four different neighborhoods. They told everyone to come out and celebrate and say “Hi!” this Friday afternoon,” said Keenan.
So what have been some of challenges been for her and her family? “We’re all still working full time. I have four kids all trying to be on the Internet at the same time, all trying to work at the same time and for everyone trying to do those things it’s hard to balance everything. We had already taken the day off today and we went to Hidden Falls and had some sword fights and made some forts to unplug and to stop trying to keep up with all of the balls in the air.”
Keenan’s daughter Aubrey graduated from Webster last year and is currently a 6th grader. When asked how she feels about schools being closed she simply said, ” I hate it. I don’t to see any of my friends at all.”
