Three celebrations in the area were held over the last weekend in September. Taste of Northeast, a fall festival celebrating the Northeast Minneapolis community, was held on Friday and Saturday, September 26 and 27, at St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedal. (Michael McKinney) East Side Neighborhood Services hosted the inaugural Nordeast Rock the Block fundraiser on Saturday, September 27. The party featured tastings from local breweries and home brewers and food from local purveyors. A young fan danced the day away to the ‘Sota Pop band. Home brewers set up tasting stations for the brews they made, that could be voted on for best at the end. (Mark Peterson)
