The River City Church’s Buy Nothing Event buzzed with activity on Saturday, Aug. 10. in the parking lot of the Ukrainian Event Center, 301 Main St. NE. It was a day where wallets took a break, and the only currency was the giving and receiving of objects, with free coffee included.
Attendees at this event found treasures they wanted—while others were happy to give away items they no longer needed. The weather couldn’t have been better—sunshine, blue skies and a light breeze, perfect for looking for your new favorite thing.
Erin Hobson, treasurer at River City Church, brought this event to life. As a member of the Northeast Buy Nothing group on Facebook, Hobson figured this was a golden opportunity to meet the community and let them know more about the church.
