Features of the newly constructed Graco Park. In construction of the park, city and park officials wanted to pay tribute to what the space was before it was a park: a lumber yard. The park features timbers adorned with mill markings along the riverfront. (Max Goldberg)

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Superintendent Al Bangoura gives remarks in front of The River Hub. It is a net zero building, with on-site solar and geothermal power offsetting its carbon footprint. The lot was an empty field since 2010 and development began in 2018. Bottom right, brand new wooden loungers are one of the many features of Graco Park, which sits just outside Graco’s headquarters located off Sibley Street NE. Besides the loungers, the park features a beach, picnic tables, community space and Spark’d, a multimedia and technology center offering classes, clubs and more for the youth of Northeast.
