The building that housed Little Jack’s Steak House, 201 Lowry Ave. NE, is no more. Frattalone Companies took down the building as well as the former Quinn Dental and Klash Drums buildings at 207 and 211 Lowry Sept. 20-22.
The little brick building at 211 Lowry was first to go; it was built in 1921. The Quinn Dental building was newer, constructed in 1962. It took two days to take down Little Jack’s, built in 1902. The restaurant was a favorite Northeast dining and watering hole from 1932 to 2006. A lot of business transactions and political meetings occurred there.
Luke Shimp, owner of the Red Cow restaurants, purchased the three properties in 2018, with an eye toward redevelopment. However, the pandemic put those plans on hold. The Northeaster attempted to reach Red Cow officials to find out what’s in store for the properties, but did not receive a reply.
