St. Anthony exploring organics recycling ordinance
The City of St. Anthony is exploring a “Green-to-Go” ordinance. According to an email from the St. Anthony Chamber, through the month of August, the city was “gathering input from food service businesses on recycling and organics composting.” This ordinance “would require all take-out food and beverage containers to be compostable, reusable, or recyclable.”
Tropical bar up for sale
Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge, 1900-1924 Marshall St. NE, has been available for lease for four years. The riverside restaurant shut down in 2022; the property has not been used since. The site, which includes a new HVAC system, is now on sale for $4 million.
Businesses remain open through reconstruction
Reconstruction in the Logan Park and Northeast Park neighborhoods continues.
According to an email from the City of Minneapolis, “sewer work along 12th Ave. NE between Jackson St. NE and the Waterbury Building,” 1211 Jackson St. NE, “is continuing to make progress.” The new gutter system was slated to be fully installed the week of Aug. 31. The Waterbury Building parking lot has remained open throughout construction.
Paving crews have begun removing pavement on 13th Ave. NE and grading the street in preparation for new asphalt.
According to the email, the new section of Tyler Street — between Broadway Street and the Tyler Street Stacks parking garage — is now open for motor vehicle access.
Businesses in that area, including Bauhaus Brew Labs, Blu Dot, Dogwood Coffee, Padraigs Brewing, Spyhouse Coffee, Tare Market Northeast and Shotshape Golf Studio, are set to remain open throughout construction.
