River Hub wins national award
Snow Kreilich Architects, a Minneapolis-based architecture firm, earned an award for a project in Northeast Minneapolis. The River Hub at Graco Park, a 4,000-square-foot building with multi-purpose areas for community organization and environmental education along the Mississippi River, earned the American Institute of Architects’ Small Project Award. In their submission, the designers wrote the project presents “a model for urban parks,” pointing out its energy-efficient community center and its makers’ space is designed for teenagers.
Vintage clothing shop in Heights
The Lucky Stranger, 808 40th Ave. NE, celebrated their recent opening on July 25. The shop specializes in vintage women’s clothing and home goods. According to ownership, the shop’s inventory will be regularly updated.
Pizza restaurant closes
Arturo’s Pizza, 18 University Ave. NE, has closed. The Northeast Minneapolis location opened in 2021.
Brewery under new ownership
Bauhaus Brew Labs, which shuttered on June 27 after 12 years in Northeast Minneapolis, is set to reopen.
ABV Technology, a St. Paul-based company announced their acquisition of the company on July 21. A press release says the Bauhaus taproom will open with “a new full-spectrum beverage program that brings back original Bauhaus favorites and expands the menu with full strength, no- and low-alcohol craft beer, wine, and cocktails, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic specialty drinks.” The reopening is slated for “later this summer.”
Car lot opens
Central Autos, Inc., 2650 Central Ave. NE, has recently populated their lot with automobiles for sale.
