Two restaurants set to expand
Saturday Dumpling Co., a local fast-casual dumpling restaurant located at 519 Central Ave. NE, is planning an expansion. The company will open a new location in the Market at Malcolm Yards, a food hall in Prospect Park, in August. Peter Bian, the restaurant’s owner, said the Market is “one of the best food halls in the Twin Cities, filled with great menu choices and innovative chefs, so it feels like a perfect match.”
Additionally, Football Pizza will open their third location. The Minneapolis pizza chain is expanding into Eden Prairie, at 582 Prairie Center Drive.

Northeast Investment Co-op sells property
The Northeast Investment Co-op, a member-owned co-op which, according to its website, “leverages member-owners’ investments to purchase and rejuvenate stressed and poorly utilized residential and commercial properties in Northeast Minneapolis,” has sold a new property, located at 1601 37th Ave NE. The property is the most recent of their acquisitions; they renovated it before renting it out for a few years.
According to a recent email, the property’s new owner, who owns a food truck in the area, hopes to open a Mexican deli at the location. She will work with the city of Columbia Heights to do so, but she will start by “opening a tailor shop and market while she works with the city on permits and fire sprinklers.”
