Bakery in former pizzeria
Solomon’s Bakery, a bakery based in New Brighton, has a new location along Central Avenue and Hennepin Avenue. The bakery’s new location, 519 E Hennepin Ave., is currently only accepting pickup orders.
Slice Brothers Pizza, the business previously on the property, was sold to its employees in November 2025 and all but one of its locations closed.
Diane’s Place earns honors
On February 19, Diane’s Place, a celebrated Hmong-Asian restaurant at 117 14th Ave. NE, earned its latest set of honors. Good Morning America chose the restaurant to represent Minnesota in its “50 States in 50 Weeks” series. The Twin Cities is home to one of the world’s largest Hmong populations.
“This is the food I grew up eating, but through the lens of everything I’ve learned as a chef,” said Diane Moua, owner of the restaurant.
City Council Member Michael Rainville, who represents Ward 3, presented Moua with a document declaring February 19, 2026 “Diane Moua Day” in the City of Minneapolis. The document referenced Moua’s “unwavering commitment to culinary excellence” and her work in “elevating Hmong culture and cuisine to the national stage.”
The Legends at Silver Lake Village 55+ apartments sold
The Legends at Silver Lake, an affordable apartment building in St. Anthony Village, has been sold for $33 million.
The property, 2500 38th Ave. NE, was owned by Dominium, a property management company with a portfolio of apartments in 18 states. The company manages apartments in 24 Minnesotan cities, including Minneapolis, Columbia Heights and St. Anthony Village.
The four-level building, which has 169 units, was sold in an all-cash deal to LaSalle Investment Management. LaSalle Investment Management did not respond to a request for comment in time for publication.
Dominium did not provide a comment on the transaction. The Legends at Silver Lake was also contacted in a request for comment.
According to reportage from Finance and Commerce, the sale of The Legends at Silver Lake is at least the company’s 12th sale in the Twin Cities metro area since May of 2024.
Bottle shop to shut down
Zero Proof, 2516 Central Ave. NE, is shutting down at the end of March. The shop sells non-alcoholic spirit alternatives, THC products, hemp products, glassware and sodas.

Bar to open in historic space
Lonely’s Bar is set to open at 117 Main St. SE, on St. Anthony Main. Edic Odness, bar operator, and Erik Hamline, creative director, are aiming for an early May opening. The bar will have a “nostalgic” menu, a riverfront patio, game-day promotions for Vikings and Twins games and a pool table.
