A husband and wife team, Eric and Kari Johnson, operating under the name of 521 Main LLC, has proposed building a 29-unit apartment building on the corner where a 120-year-old duplex currently stands. The Johnsons, who live in Prospect Park, purchased the property in February of this year.
The proposal would create a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments and would have parking for 14 vehicles. The building plans were drawn up by Collage Architects of Northeast.
The Minneapolis Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) department will hold a hearing Nov. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in Minneapolis City Hall, room 317.
