Columbia Heights announces Outstanding Citizens for 2025

Jennifer Pyper-Muno, 2025 Heights Outstanding Citizen recipient. (Provided)
Columbia Heights Mayor Amáda Márquez Simula named Jennifer Pyper-Muno a 2025 Outstanding Citizen. For the past 17 years, Pyper-Muno has volunteered with Eastside Meals on Wheels; more recently, she’s started volunteering with Southern Anoka Community Assistance, helping deliver meals around the holidays and working as a substitute driver.
For the bulk of the past three decades, Pyper-Muno has made a point of cleaning up litter in Colombia Heights; she hopes to motivate the community to do the same via social media.
More recently, she has gotten involved with HeightsNEXT, a Columbia Heights volunteer organization, leading their annual City Garden Tour and volunteering at various annual events. “It’s in my DNA to volunteer,” she said. As of 2023, she’s helped plan and promote community meetups over coffee; she says they’re a great way to meet new residents and support local businesses.
