Tool Library Fix-In “Dare to Repair” events
NE Minneapolis Tool Library is offering free Fix-In sessions. Each session will have a different focus with specialists on hand. Sunday, Nov. 19 will focus on heaters and Sunday, Dec. 17 will focus on toys, but sessions are not restricted to those topics. Free and open to the public; each session is from 3-6 pm. Located in the main level of the Thorp Building at 1620 Central Ave. NE, slightly north of Diamonds Coffee Shoppe.

The ever-popular Northeast Calendar is now available for pickup at a location near you. It contains images created by 12 Northeast artists. The Northeast Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Northeast Celebration Thursday, Nov. 30, 4:30-6 pm at Jax Cafe, 1928 University Ave. NE. The event is a fundraiser for the Edison High School Voyager Scholarship Fund. The goal of Voyager is to develop successful graduates of Minneapolis Edison High School with the qualifications and experience needed to meet or exceed job requirements. Book sale at Pierre Bottineau
Friends of the Pierre Bottineau Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, Dec. 2, 10 am-2 pm at the Pierre Bottineau Library, 55 Broadway St. NE. Hundreds of adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books (most 50¢ - $1) in hardcover and paperback. They will also sell "blind date" books. Items have been withdrawn from the Hennepin County Library system or donated by the public. Funds raised will benefit the library. Cash only.
