Bottineau ice cream social
Friday June 28, 6-8 pm at Bottineau Field Park, 2000 2nd St. NE. Family fun with free ice cream treats and a food truck, an inflatable bounce house, yard games and art projects. Bottineau Neighborhood Association will host a kids game with prizes. Stick around after the event for Movie in the Park featuring Ember and Wade in "Elemental," in a city where fire-, water-, earth- and air-residents live together.

The Columbia Heights Firefighters' Association invites everyone to join us on Sunday, June 30th from 10 am-1 pm at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE, for an all-you-eat pancake breakfast. The breakfast will feature pancakes, sausages, eggs, coffee and juice. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 4-11, and kids under 4 eat free. The Lions will have a cash bar. The Minneapolis Police Band is a community band - all citizen musicians in the greater Twin Cities are welcome join. Rehearsals are Thursday nights in the community room of the 5th Precinct, 3101 Nicollet Ave. The Minneapolis Police Band plays at a variety of locations from Como Park to nursing homes and elder centers. Tjärnblom, Swedish for "woodland lake flower," is a Scandinavian-style string band featuring a beautiful blend of Nyckelharpa, Octave Mandolin, Harmonium and Cello. They travel a modern "Snoose Boulevard Highway" in their musical journey, playing a repertoire of both old and new Swedish, Finnish, Minnesotan and original tunes for dancing and for listening.
