Woodworkers workshop open house
MPLS MAKE, a community workshop for Twin Cities-area woodworkers, invites the public to a free open house, Saturday, March 5, 2-5 p.m., to tour its new 4,000-square-foot location at 1858 Central Ave. NE, meet current members, and learn more about the workshop. MPLS MAKE caters to local woodworking enthusiasts, hobbyists, and contractors who want to use their skills but may not have space at their own at home. The St. Anthony Civic Orchestra will play its Spring Concert, Sunday, March 6, at 3 p.m., at the St. Anthony Community Center, 3301 Silver Lake Road. The program includes Glink: Russlan and Ludmilla Overture, Grieg: Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, and Dvorak: Symphony No. 8. Admission is free.

Gardening Matters seed and plant events
Gardening Matters, an independent organization dedicated to community gardeners, is having seed distribution events, Saturday, April 9, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland St. NE, and Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m.-noon, at Redeemer Center for Life, 1800 Glenwood Ave. N.
