Neighborhood safety discussions
Join your Eastside neighbors either virtually or in person at 6:30 pm Monday, March 10, for the monthly Second Precinct Advisory Council (2-PAC) meeting. All are welcome to discuss neighborhood safety issues and solutions. Each month 2-PAC brings together neighbors, businesses and representatives of the Minneapolis Police Department, city attorney’s office and others involved in public safety. Hennepin County’s Neighborhood Fix-It Hub is at St. Anthony Library, 2941 Pentagon Dr. Work with a friendly, skilled volunteer to try to fix your broken household stuff, gain confidence and learn new repair skills. Clay Squared, 2505 Howard St. NE, invites the community into their studios Wednesday, March 12, 12-1 pm. Josh Blanc is a handmade tile maker and his studio creates tiles for residential and commercial spaces. Head to the St. Anthony Community Center on Thursday, March 13, 11:30 am-1:30 pm for a luncheon catered from Culver’s and then listen to the St. Anthony High School choir. Potters create handcrafted bowls; Northeast restaurants provide soup/bread; you donate what you can and keep your bowl as a reminder of hunger in the community; proceeds go to local food shelves.
