Northeast United Methodist Church will bless bikes -- and their riders -- during its church service May 5. All one-, two- and three-wheeled vehicles, motorized or people-powered, will receive a blessing for a safe biking season. St. Matthew Community Theater, 4101 Washington Street NE, Columbia Heights, MN, will present its 26th annual spring Broadway musical, “Big Fish," May 2-4 and May 9-11 at 7 pm, and May 5 & 12 at 2 pm. The Saturday shows will be preceded by a dinner/social hour. Proceeds from the event will benefit the theater ministry and a teen mission trip. Catholic Eldercare will host a free presentation on Monday, May 6, 1:30-3 pm at the MainStreet Lodge, 909 Main St. NE. The sonnet is a short poem, crafted in one of several possible patterns, and focused on a main idea. It derives much of its strength form the conventions of developing that main idea, and then responding to it.
