Community Engagement July 11 on the Pioneers Monument
St Anthony West Neighborhood Organization (STAWNO) Riverfront Committee will host a community engagement conversation regarding the Pioneers Monument, located at B F Nelson Park, 434 Main Street, on Monday, July 11, 6:30-8 pm. The Pioneers Monument has suffered graffitti a number of different times in the past, and is a maintenance issue for Minneapolis Parks and Recreation. There are more accidents than average on segments of Hwy. 47 (University Ave.) and Hwy. 65 (Central Ave.), and accidents that involve pedestrians and bicyclists are far more likely to result in death or serious injuries.
