In celebration of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge, the Columbia Heights Public Library and Mayor Amáda Márquez Simula will host a citywide book discussion of the novel “Flight Behavior” by Barbara Kingsolver. Sheridan Neighborhood Organization will hold its Annual Ice Cream 'SNOcial' Wednesday, August 4, 6-8 pm, at SNO Community Garden #2, 611 13th Ave NE. Larisa Netterlund, a resident of Audubon Park, brings live theatre back to Northeast August 5-15 as one of only a handful of indoor, in-person productions at Minnesota Fringe Festival. Channel is a ghost story, following a lighting designer (Elizabeth Efteland) working alone in the theatre. An art program utilizing West African symbols that connect to the larger diaspora will be held for teens and adults 13-24. Folks will be guided through a mixed media magical manifestation for and of the community to create work to be displayed.
