Northeast Community Band holiday concert
The Northeast Community Band will present its annual holiday concert Thursday, Dec. 19, 7 pm at Edison High School, 700 22nd Ave. NE. The free concert will feature a Morton Gould rendition of "Jingle Bells," as well as old favorites such as "Sleigh Ride" and "Auld Lang Syne." Free. St. Michael’s & St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church invites the public to warm the cold winter nights with made-from-scratch borscht (beet soup) and pyrizhky (home-made bread rolls with a creamy potato filling and lightly fried). Take-out dinners are $12 and include a 16-oz bowl of borscht and two pyrizhky.
