Venite! A spring concert
The choirs of Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1621 University Ave. NE, will present a spring concert on Saturday, May 4, 7:30 pm. Admission is free, but a $20 donation is encouraged in support of music at Holy Cross. The program features works by G. Aichinger, G. Allegri, F. Anerio, S. Backman, E.C. Bairstow, A. Beach, W. Connect with local city leaders, Northeast Chamber leadership and local businesses to have meaningful conversations, make new connections and stay informed about issues facing the local community. This is the 50-year anniversary of the death of Picasso. There are worldwide events planned. David Feinberg and Holly Tappen’s new art show explores the methods, techniques and motifs found in Picasso’s abstract expressionism. Register now open for the Lower Northeast Neighborhoods Association Spring Bean Bag Tournament on Saturday, May 11, noon-3 pm at Sociable Cider Werks, 1500 Fillmore St. NE. The cost to participate is $25 per team (two-person teams). This is a fundraiser for the Lower Northeast Neighborhoods Association. Watch the tournament and have a beverage. Sociable will give LNENA $1 per beverage sold during tournament time. Rain date, if needed, is Sunday, May 19.
