Welcome the Herons
Great blue herons start returning to their rookery on the Mississippi River toward the end of March. Bring your binoculars and join the National Park Service, Mississippi Park Connection and volunteers at Marshall Terrace Park, 2740 Marshall St. NE, Saturday, March 30, 11 am-1 pm. Pothole Palooza
The Pothole Palooza benefit concert is coming to the historic Hollywood Theater, 2815 Johnson St. NE, Saturday, April 6 with five bands playing five different genres. Saturday, April 13, 10 am–12:30 pm, Mississippi Watershed Management Organization, 2522 Marshall St. NE. This workshop will start with an informative presentation from Colleen O’Connor Toberman, a local expert on carp in the Mississippi River. Get help with your broken stuff and learn valuable repair skills at an upcoming Fix-It Clinic. At the clinic, you’ll get guided assistance from volunteers with repair skills to disassemble, troubleshoot, and (hopefully) fix small household appliances, clothing, electronics, mobile devices and more. 12-4 pm, with the last items accepted at 3:30 pm.
