SUMMARY:Northeast Calendar call for art\, due Sept. 25
DESCRIPTION:The call for art is open for the 2021 Northeast Calendar\, coordinated by the Northeast Community Development Corporation. Images are sought that represent the 14 Northeast neighborhoods. The deadline is Sept. 25. \nAn image may be representative of a neighborhood simply due to the artist living or working in that neighborhood\, or it can be a landmark. \n“We are looking for active\, colorful\, beautiful and/or funny images that bring cheer and a feeling of togetherness\, community\,” organizers said in a news release. “We encourage active images of people: Photographs of people who are readily recognizable should be accompanied by a release from the subjects.” \nThirteen images will be chosen for the months Jan. 2021-Jan. 2022\, each for $200\, and one for the cover\, $400. Images will be juried by independent professionals. The calendar will be designed by graphic artist Leann Johnson. DESCRIPTION:NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) offers a variety of free online peer support groups for adults and young adults living with a mental illness\, their families\, friends\, spouses/partners\, as well as parents of children and teens. \nLed by trained peer facilitators\, the support groups help individuals and families learn coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. The groups are specifically for those individuals suggested by the group’s title. For example\, Family Support Group is only for family members and NAMI Connection is only for those who live with a mental illness and are over 18.
