SUMMARY:St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral Men’s Chorale in Concert
DESCRIPTION:The full ensemble’s thirty-five members will present a concert on Friday\, Nov. 4\, 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral\, 1629 5th St. NE. They will present a concert of church hymns spanning the rich history of Orthodox Christian music. Musical selections will be sung in English\, and feature trios\, quartets and the full ensemble singing in the a cappella style\, without instrumental accompaniment. Gregory Ealy\, the cathedral’s music director\, will lead the ensemble. Tickets are $25 for adults\, $10 for students and under 10 are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at bit.ly/svs-stmarys2016. The concert is a benefit for St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary\, Yonkers\, N.Y.\, which is the premiere Orthodox theological school in North America. The Seminary’s chancellor\, the V. Rev. Chad Hatfield will present a lecture after the concert during a reception in the cathedral’s community hall\, across the street from the concert.
