DESCRIPTION:“You and Me and Them and Us\,” a one-person show of hand-cut collages and photorealistic colored pencil portraits by Minneapolis-based artist Russ White. Displaying through March 28\, free and open to the public. The Lillian Davis Hogan Gallery\, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota\, Winona Campus\, 700 Terrace Heights\, Winona\, MN. Gallery hours: 9 am-8 pm daily. \nFrom large hyper-realistic renderings in colored pencil to abstracted paper collages cut and assembled by hand\, the collection of work explores representation of the human form\, navigating different ways of capturing human energy and emotion. Is realistic representation the most effective\, or can a looser approach to mark-making create more of an impact?  \nRuss White is an artist\, designer\, and writer based in Minneapolis. He works as editor of written content for MPLSART.com as well as editor-in-chief of In Studio magazine\, an annual publication from the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association.
