SUMMARY:Public and families invited to “Visit Our Schools Month”
DESCRIPTION:Because it takes more than principals\, teachers\, and families to educate students\, Minneapolis Public Schools is inviting the public to take a guided tour of its elementary schools during Visit Our Schools Month. Tours will be Saturday\, Oct. 15\, 9:30 a.m.-noon; Tuesday\, Oct. 18\, 10:30 a.m.-noon; Tuesday\, Oct. 25\, 10:30 a.m.-noon; Tuesday\, Nov. 1\, 10:30 a.m.-noon and 4-6 p.m.; and Monday\, Nov. 7\, 10:30 a.m.-noon. \nThe district is inviting neighbors\, friends\, and community members to the event\, as well as families\, because it wants everyone to see what an entire city of support can make possible. This is the first year MPS is hosting Visit Our Schools Month. The event replaces the annual School Fair Showcase that was previously held to help prospective families learn about their school options before registering for the following school year. \nDuring Visit Our Schools Month families can learn about MPS schools and the enrollment process by immersing themselves in a school’s culture and meeting the people in the classrooms.
