“Prudence and Misfortune”
"Prudence and Misfortune" opens April 12 at NE Sculpture|Gallery Factory, 1720 Madison St. NE #14. The work of Michael Sommers, the show is about the Prudence and Misfortune of materials, not lost nor forgotten, but rediscovered, repurposed, shaped by hands and eyes that see and cannot see. The Midwest Polka Association (MPA) invites the community to enjoy an afternoon of listening and dancing to polkas and waltzes at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE, Sunday, April 28, 1-5 pm. Theatre Novi Most is bringing The Ukrainian Words Project to various locations in the Twin Cities area and greater Minnesota. Under the direction of founders Lisa Channer and Vladimir Rovinsky, staged readings of new plays by Ukrainian playwrights will be performed alongside optional community Story Circles. Minneapolis-based textile artist and dancer Alexandra Beaumont will hold a solo exhibition, “Techniques for Ecstasy" at Public Functionary, 1500 Jackson St. NE.
