Founded on Veterans Day in 1948 by the community\, for the community\, Memorial Blood Centers ensures a safe and stable supply of blood for patients in area hospitals.  \nDonating blood is convenient and safe when you are healthy\, well and: In good health\, Free of antibiotics for 24 hours\, unless taken daily for skin condition\, Symptom-free for at least three days following a cold or a flu\, 17 years or older\, 16 with written parental consent (form available at MBC.ORG). \nWhile walk-in donors are always welcome\, they encourage appointments be made in advance.
