SUMMARY:Infinite Beach + Moon Spiral Heart Attack
DESCRIPTION:Dreamsong\, 1237 4th St. NE\, offers two shows: “Infinite Beach” by Kristen Sanders\, and a group exhibition\, “Moon Spiral Heart Attack”\, which features 11 emerging artists from the United States\, Canada\, France\, and Argentina working in painting\, drawing\, photography\, printmaking\, sculpture\, and video. Cleaved from the familiar strictures of anthropomorphic time\, Sanders’ subjects inhabit windswept eternities. Emerging from seemingly incongruous sources – the fossilized shells of long ago extinct bivalves\, still lives constructed from latex gloves and prehistoric rocks\, a snapshot of a painting by Sanders’ late uncle\, who died in a Ukrainian studio fire when she was a child – the works in “Infinite Beach” are bound together by a common line of inquiry: what remnants survive at the periphery of existence? Embracing punk aesthetics and queer poetics\, “Moon Spiral Heart Attack” reveals tender forms and mythic creatures\, presented by Night Club. Wednesdays-Saturdays\, March 24-April 30\, 12-5 pm. \n
