DESCRIPTION:Market Garden Theatre continues the Fresh Roots Series with “I Forgot About Goliad\,” a new work by local playwright Cristina Florencia Castro. The developmental workshop will culminate in a free public staged reading on Sunday\, Jan. 20\, 7 pm at the Crane Theater\, 2303 Kennedy St. NE. The reading is directed by Market Garden Theatre’s Artistic Director\, Lucas Skjaret and produced by Brittany Ottum\, with dramaturgy by Madeline Kvale. \nWeaving through time\, latinidad\, and San Antonio\, Texas\, “I Forgot About Goliad” traces the friendship of childhood best friends Maribel and Catherine. While experiencing their joys and tragedies\, you see the two young women come into themselves\, and just how fragile friendship\, in the face of time and inevitable differences\, can be. A story known by everyone who has found themselves a stranger to a person they once loved\, “I Forgot About Goliad” shows the best and worst of one’s past. \n
