Husband-and-wife artist team launch first official exhibit together
Artist Terri Wentzka and sculptor Scott Wentzka, who have a studio in the Northrup King building, have more in common than a surname and a marriage certificate. Both are visual artists who have received accolades, and now they’re opening their first joint exhibit under a central theme. “Unremarked” opens at the Lillian Davis Hogan Gallery at St. Mary’s University, 700 Terrace Heights, Winona, MN, on Thursday, March 8. “The title, ‘Unremarked,’ refers to things which are not noticed, or not perceived,” says Terri. “We each worked with variations on that idea, with very different results.” Part of the difference in results comes from the type of work each artist does; Scott’s work is primarily abstract, while Terri’s is representational. Coming to the same theme from a different artistic perspective gives their exhibit a wider range and balance.
