SUMMARY:HeightsNEXT Earth Day Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:HeightsNEXT is organizing volunteers for an Earth Day Cleanup along Central Avenue and in nearby parks. Volunteers should meet Saturday\, April 23\, 9 am in the parking lot across from Murzyn Hall\, 530 Mill St NE. Volunteers should bring their own gloves and dress for the weather and picking up trash. Bags and safety vests will be handed out for picking up litter and cleanup areas will be assigned. The Columbia Heights Lions Club\, which is clearing trash along University Avenue\, will supply donuts for all cleanup volunteers. Simply show up on the day of the event. The cleanup will occur “rain or shine”. However\, if severe weather develops\, volunteers should check HeightsNEXT.org or facebook.com/HeightsNext for event updates. Last fall\, volunteers bagged more than 210 lbs. of litter. \n
