The Society of Puzzling People meets the first Friday of every month, at 7 pm, to put together a jigsaw puzzle. From sorting out the edge pieces to finally putting in that last piece, puzzling remains a high drama event full of twists and turns. Always accompanied by great conversation, the puzzle assembly proves to be an interesting look at problem solving and each human’s approach. Puzzlers of all ages welcome.
To Catch A Dream, Tuesday, May 15, 7 pm, writer Wendy Brown-Baez will read and discuss “Catch a Dream,” a novel set in Israel during the first intifada. “Catch a Dream” is a woman’s journey to healing while living in a country embroiled in relentless turmoil.
Writing with Courage Workshop, Tuesday, May 22, 7 pm, writer Wendy Brown-Baez returns to host a writing workshop centered on courage. How do we find the courage to speak our truth? Using simple writing exercises to access inner guidance and unlock the stories we are compelled to tell. Bring a favorite notebook. All levels welcome.
Open Mic, Thursday, May 24, 7 pm (signup starts at 6:30 pm), share music, poetry, or how your day’s been going. This month’s featured artist is Christy Merry, a native Minnesotan and relatively new Northeast resident with a rich history of participating in the poetry and musical communities in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York before returning to her Minnesota roots in 2010.
