DESCRIPTION:All classes take place at Silverwood Park\, 2500 County Rd. E\, St Anthony. \nCarving Series for Adults: Comfort Birds and Bird Identification: Wednesdays\, May 5-May 19\, 5-8 pm\, and Saturdays\, May 8-May 22\, 8:30-11:30 am. Learn the basics of woodcarving and put your newfound skills to use by carving a simple wooden comfort bird. Whittle away and have a conversation with a naturalist who is available to answer questions about birds and teach about bird anatomy. Each session includes carving and birding outdoors. Choose whether you would like to purchase a knife to keep or bring your own; instructors will advise on ways to keep your knives in good condition. Cost is $95 for this three-session program\, and reservations are required. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation. This program is for ages 18+. \nThe Artful Garden: Natural Dye Plants and Ceramic Art: Saturday\, May 8\, 9 am-noon. Join them for a workshop on natural dye gardens and ceramic art-making. Learn how to cultivate\, harvest and process plants for dyeing projects and receive a dye plant starter pack for your home garden. Afterwards create custom ceramic garden markers using a variety of handbuilding and decoration techniques to label your new plants. Cost is $30 and reservations are required by two days prior. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation. This program is for ages 8+. Children 13 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult from the same household. \nMakers Circle: Saturday\, May 8\, 10 am-noon. Whether you weave\, knit\, carve\, paint or draw\, bring the personal project you are currently working on and have some creative time with the community. This program is free and open to ages 16+. \n
