DESCRIPTION:Public Functionary\, 1500 Jackson St. NE\, Studio 144\, presents a double exhibition opening: Venus Reincarnated (curated by Guest Curator Margarita Lila Rosa) & My Flowers Died; So I’ll Bury Them and Plant New Ones (Silent Fox). Both exhibitions open on Nov. 1\, and will be on view through Dec. 6. Gallery hours: Thursday\, 1-5 pm\, Saturday\, 2-6 pm; closed Thursday\, Nov. 27.\n \nVenus Reincarnated reclaims the mythic figure of Venus—long associated with beauty\, fantasy\, and control—as a site of radical reinterpretation. Through the work of 22 artists the exhibition reimagines Venus as an evolving archetype: fragmented\, embodied\, and self-possessed. Silent Fox’s solo exhibition features all new work that invites viewers to turn inward to explore the cyclical nature of grief\, inheritance\, and regeneration.
