Citizen scientists needed to monitor wetlands
Hennepin County is seeking citizen scientists (adults and families) to explore wetlands in their communities to monitor bugs and plants. No experience is required, but an interest in wetlands, bugs, and/or plants is encouraged. Hennepin County will provide training, equipment, and leadership.
As part of this program, volunteers will work with other citizens on a team from their area. Volunteers decide how often to participate, but are expected to commit approximately 15 hours per month from June to September 2018.
Partnering cities use the data collected to determine the health of water resources and assist with natural resource management. The deadline to apply is June 1. Info and registration: Mary Karius at 612-596-9129 or hennepin.us/your-government/get-involved/wetland-health-evaluation-program.
