SUMMARY:Boatbuilders exhibit at Stormwater Park
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization partnered with Urban Boatbuilders and East Side Neighborhood Services on a boat-building project at its Stormwater Park and Learning Center\, 2522 Marshall St. NE. \nDuring the course of nine weeks\, members of the Mississippi River Green Team and teens from Menlo Park Academy were expected to put in approximately 70 hours to build a skin-on-frame wooden canoe. Through the program\, youth gained woodworking and boat-building skills\, as well as experience with communication\, teamwork\, problem-solving\, and goal-setting.
