MPLS MAKE, a community work space for Twin Cities area woodworkers (and soon to add metal workers), has moved to 3757 Third Ave. N.E. The new 8,500-sq.-ft. workshop is outfitted with state-of-the-art tools and ventilation system. Owner Theo Knaeble is celebrating the move with an open house on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2 pm. The event will offer free food, drink and live music, as well as a 100-foot Pinewood Derby track, make-your-own racecars and a tournament-style race competition throughout the afternoon. MPLS MAKE has more than 40 members who pay monthly dues in exchange for 24/7 access to the shop and its tools. www.mplsmake.com.
