Ukrainian Borscht Cook-off and Polka Dance

St. Michael’s and St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 505 Fourth St. NE, will host its fourth annual Borscht Cook-off, Saturday, Feb. 18, with the cook-off and dinner, 5:30-7 p.m., and a polka dance, featuring a live band and Ukrainian folk music, 7:30-11:30 p.m.
Participants can sample a variety of recipes and choose the best borscht in town. Borscht is a Ukrainian-style dinner including “kovbasa” (sausage), “kapusta” (sautéed sauerkraut), and “nalisnyky” (Ukrainian crepes). Borscht tasting is $5, dinner is $10, and the dance admission is $10. All proceeds will benefit victims of the war in Ukraine.
