Girls Who Code
Event ID: #4166
Girls Who Code (GWC), a national non-profit organization with a mission of closing the gender gap in technology, will be concluding their inaugural year on Saturday, March 25 at the University of Minnesota (UMN), with the unveiling of their new app, RefugeMN. This app, created by 25 middle and high school-aged girls from across the Twin Cities, serves to connect refugees living in Minnesota with community resources. The curriculum uses project-based instruction to help girls learn the core skills of computer science, and apply them to a community service project which can help improve the lives of others in their community.
