Events and activities at Silverwood Park
Silverwood Park, 2500 County Road E., in St. Anthony, is offering the following activities. For many activities, children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Info and registration: 763-559-6700 or threeriversparks.org.
Digging in Clay: Kids Behind the Wheel, Saturday, Oct. 7, 9 a.m.-noon, drop off the kids, ages 8-12, to dig in and learn how to “drive” the potter’s wheel and create a variety of fun forms. Materials and firings included, $25. Reservations are required.
Art When the Moon is Full: Meteor Moon, Saturday, Oct. 7, 7-8:30 p.m., explore the park on the night of the Draconid meteor shower and make a lantern filled with constellations, $5. Reservations are required. This program is open to all.
Camera Club, for ages 14 and older, the second Saturday of each month, 9:30-11:30 a.m., meet with other camera enthusiasts, enjoy time together shooting, check out a presentation of fine art and nature photography, view one another’s work, and discuss techniques and processes. Bring your camera and five to six images to share on a portable drive. The cost is $5. Reservations are required.
Sunset Yoga, Tuesday, Oct 10, 7-8:15 p.m., link breath with movement, build awareness, concentration, and strength by deepening the connection of mind and body, $12. For ages 14 and older.
Preschool Drop-Off: Doodlebugs, Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1-3 p.m., drop off your kids, ages 4-5, for art and nature activities. Each week is based on a different children’s book and nature-inspired theme. Sign up for one or the entire series. The cost is $10. Reservations are required by the Monday prior.
Date night, Friday, Oct. 13, 6-9 p.m., bring your date (or BFF) to connect with the elements of nature, enjoy a clay project, and give disc golf a try. Wrap up the evening by the fireside. Dress for indoor mess and outdoor weather. Wine and beer are allowed (hard alcohol is prohibited). The cost is $25 per couple. Reservations are required by the Monday prior. For ages 21 and older.
