Draft Minneapolis Skate Park Activity Plan ready for public review and comment
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) opened a 30-day public comment period Saturday, Oct. 7, on its draft Skate Park Activity Plan. This plan is a 20-year roadmap for providing quality support to the local skate park community and encouraging skating among new generations of park users. The draft Minneapolis Skate Park Activity Plan has three goals: Increase the number, variety and distribution of skate parks in Minneapolis; Address policy barriers to high-quality skate park experiences; Improve the overall skate park experience through design, operations, partnerships and safety measures.

A paper copy of the plan will be available for review at each of the six MPRB Recreation Centers where existing skate parks are located: Armatage, Bottineau, Brackett, Creekview, Elliot, and Morris. There will also be paper comment cards available at these locations.
Public comments will be accepted until Sunday, Nov. 5. After the comment period closes, MPRB staff will review the feedback and submit a revised plan to the Board of Commissioners, where it will be considered for final approval following a public hearing. The public hearing date will be announced in advance.
